Financial & Management Reporting

Financial reporting means preparing the statements and reports that show how your business is doing: year-end financial statements for your bank or landlord, and monthly or quarterly profit and loss reports for you. We prepare them from reconciled books. We do not perform audits or review engagements.

Financial statements and reporting

Your bank asks for financial statements. Could you send them this week?

When owners need statements and reports, and how we prepare them.

  1. The problem

The bank or a landlord wants statements.

A loan, a renewal or a lease often needs year-end financial statements quickly.

    The solution

    Statements prepared from your records

We prepare year-end financial statements from your reconciled books. We don't perform audits or review engagements.

  2. The problem

You only see your numbers once a year.

By the time the year-end statements arrive, the year is over.

    The solution

    Monthly or quarterly reports

We prepare a short profit and loss and balance sheet on a schedule you choose.

  3. The problem

The reports don't answer your questions.

Totals alone don't show which service, client or location makes money.

    The solution

    Reports you can use

We set up the accounts so the reports split income and costs the way you run the business.

  4. The problem

The statements and the tax return don't match.

Different numbers in different places lead to questions from CRA and lenders.

    The solution

    One set of numbers

The statements, the T2 and the books come from the same reconciled records.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU START

Common questions.

Are these audited or reviewed financial statements?

No. This service is management reporting and does not provide an audit or review assurance opinion. Any assurance requirement needs a separately appropriate engagement.

Can the reports be sent to a lender?

Tell us the intended use and the lender’s requirements first. We confirm the report’s purpose and limitations; acceptance by a lender is not guaranteed.

What if the records are incomplete?

We identify missing information and explain its effect on the reports. Catch-up or reconciliation work may be needed before useful conclusions can be drawn.
