Support for your next step
Personal Income Tax Returns
A personal tax return (T1) reports your income for the year and is due on 30 April for most people; self-employed people can file by 15 June but still pay by 30 April. We check your slips first, prepare any rental or business schedules, and explain the result plainly.

Personal tax returns (T1)
Most personal returns are due on 30 April. Most mistakes start with a missing slip.
Common personal tax problems, and how we handle each one.
-
The problem
A slip arrives after you filed.
A late T4, T5 or T3 means an adjustment and sometimes a balance owing.
The solutionA slip check first
We check the slips CRA expects for you before filing, so the return is complete the first time.
-
The problem
You are self-employed and unsure of the dates.
Self-employed people can file by 15 June, but any balance owing is still due on 30 April.
The solutionBoth dates in your calendar
We plan around the payment date, not just the filing date, so interest doesn't creep in.
-
The problem
Rental income or a side business, kept in a spreadsheet.
Rental and business income need their own schedules and proper expense records.
The solutionThe right schedules
We prepare the rental and business schedules from your records and tell you what to keep for next year.
-
The problem
You own a corporation too.
Your personal return and your company's salary and dividends are connected.
The solutionOne view of both
We look at your T1 together with the T4 or dividend slips from your corporation.

Why book before April?
The RRSP deadline falls in the first 60 days of the year, and 30 April is the payment date for most people. A short check early leaves room to act.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU START
Common questions.
Can you help with a previous year?
Prior-year returns and adjustments can be discussed. Tell us the years involved and whether returns have already been filed so the proposed scope is clear.
Are business and rental schedules included automatically?
We identify the schedules your circumstances require and agree the work involved. Connected bookkeeping or property review may need a separate scope.
Does preparing a return mean it has been filed and paid?
No. Preparation, your approval, filing and any payment are distinct steps. We explain the agreed responsibilities and confirm what remains outstanding.
